I love this song. It features what is probably the most sampled drum break in history. James Brown gets out of the way and lets his band do it's thing. He throws in his James Brownisms here and there but for the most part it's just the band. JB had a really awesome band.

One of my favorite DMB songs...now in acoustic!

We're not used to temps in the teens with wind chill in the single digits. It's cold but I like it. I'm savoring it wile I can because once this cold front moves through we're back into the mid to upper 60's next week. That's practically t-shirt weather now. Thankfully the Black Negro was warm and ready to go cranking out a decent mix to get the day started off right.

The Black Negro decided it wanted to act up this morning. (Actually I'm sure I pressed a button or something while putting him in pocket or something but whatever.) When I put him in the dock on my desk this morning and hit play it had started over at song number one in the playlist. Since it's a randomly shuffled playlist it started with a different song than I originally heard when I got up this morning. As a result I lost the list of songs I've been listening to so far this morning. Fall is finally here. It was 60 degrees this morning when I left for work. Today's high is 78. It's supposed to get down into the 50's tonight for a low. The blazing hot summer has come to an end in Memphis. Of course the temps could spike back up into the upper 80's next week for all we know. This is Memphis after all. We were in the 90's just last week. We'll enjoy the cool weather while it's here though.
