This is a brand new Vincent Bach Stradivarius trumpet. Bach Strads are one of if not the best professional grade trumpets in the world. It is a distant descendant of the Bach Strad I played while in college. I miss that horn so much it hurts sometimes. When I transfered to Carson-Newman I was roped into playing again by the new band director. He issued me a school trumpet but advised me to look into buying my own trumpet if I wanted to become a serious trumpet player. He helped me find and purchase a nice used Bach Strad from a local music store for a steal. Having played crappy student trumpets provided by my school for many years I was overjoyed to finally have a nice professional quality trumpet that I actually owned. Sadly when I graduated I was seriously strapped for cash so I sold my pride and joy on Ebay. I got double what I payed for it but got no joy from the sale. I regret that decision to this day. Sure I can buy another Strad but it won't be the same. You always remember your first.

I had never seen the Lovestoned / I Think She Knows video before that night. My MTV / VH1 watching has fallen' to almost 0 as of late. I guess I'm getting old. I'm not as hip to what's cool with the kiddies any more. I found this to be the most interesting JT video to date. You don't actually see him in the flesh until the very end when the song transitions into the softer, more melodic I Think She Knows section. It's very well done. I like the futuristic vibe displayed throughout.

This picture is a perfect example of it. She sewed the patterns (don't know the real name for them) on the front of her dress. She made her bouquet along with the ones the bridesmaids and junior bridesmaids wore. She made the boutonnières for me and my groomsmen and corsages for our mothers and grandmothers. She put together the garland for the arch you see behind her. The decorations for the seats along the aisle were created by her. I went to Hobby Lobby and Michael's with her more in the months leading up to the wedding than I ever have before (and hopefully ever will again). She's a good sketch artist and has just started to dabble in painting. Once upon a time she wanted to be a fashion designer. She's designed and made dresses for herself and her mother in the past. She also makes hand made dolls. My baby got skills. Don't even get me started on her vocal and musical talents.
Obviously I'm a bit biased but my wife really is very creative and talented. That's one of the things that attracted me to her in the first place.

Apparently there was a big commotion in Waco, TX a few years ago about Hooters moving into town. A lot of people were up in arms about it. I just so happened to be visiting for my friend Aaron's wedding and snapped a pic of this funny sign.

This is my current favorite mainly because it contains actual music from the movie. That's a rarity. Of course Dreamgirls is a musical so having a bunch of random songs that generally have nothing to do with the movie wouldn't make a lot of sense. Movies that fit that category are listed below.
To this day I don't think I've seen this movie all the way through but the soundtrack was the joint back in the day. I'd Die Without You by P.M. Dawn is worth the purchase price by itself but look at the other contributors. Johnny Gill (back when he wasn't washed up), A Tribe Called Quest, TLC, Aaron Hall, Shanice, Boyz II Men. This soundtrack was and still is tight.
I can't really put my finger on why I liked this album so much back in the day. Maybe it was the Al B. Sure track. Nah. That can't be it can it? Regulate by Warren G./Nate Dogg was the standout track on there. Other highlights included a rare Lady of Rage sighting, SWV, and Aaron Hall. Everything else is pretty much fluff. The one guilty pleasure on the album would be the universal truth professed on Hoochies Need Love Too by Paradise (has anybody heard from them before or since this album?)
This gets an honorable mention. I really only liked it for the Boys II Men remix. I've grown increasingly tired of movie soundtracks. I lean more towards original scores now when I want to get music from a movie I like.
